She has some unique ideas about photography studio and packaging ideas, and how to brand create. Jenny has a talent for making her camera shy subjects smile on her shoots, and this, coupled with her passion for packaging, has given her a reputation with her clients who are sure to have a smile on their face when their final print package arrives.
As part of her brand creation, she has designed and produced custom made packages as a way of perfectly presenting the final photographic products. But this is more than just about packaging for Jenny. She also uses this quite simply as an opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to her customers.
“My customers have let me into their homes and their family and although our shoot time together can be relatively short, I feel like I have really got to know their personalities, and to share some special memories with them. Often, I am told that recieving the final package is a very exciting moment when they receive their beautiful prints and albums to treasure forever”
In creating her beautiful and unique packaging for her clients, Jenny customises off-the-shelf products: from boxes to bags, she takes apparently ordinary objects, sourced from different suppliers, out of which she manages to create the extraordinary.
So although the ribbon may come from one supplier, the box from another, Jenny combines the separate elements to create her brand which is both memorable and cohesive. Customised stickers are used to seal envelopes, packaging and bags and all are fully branded with her brand colour palette. As well as her logo, Jenny uses “thank you” motifs to add a personal touch to her packaging.
“Making your customers happy on the shoot is only the first step” says Jenny “making sure they love the final results turns a first time customer into a loyal returning one. Its funny how a sticker can contribute so much to that!”
Her advice for other small businesses looking to create their own brand for their is simple? “Grab a glue gun, some permanent adhesive, a pair of scissors, a straight-edge trimmer, a roll of ribbon and get creative.”
